I graduated! (but what now ?)
Got my bachelor's today. Went to both the spring commencement and the CoE graduation ceremony. It was surreal seeing four years of work culminate in a few hours. I remember browsing reddit a few days before graduation and finding r/uofm post by Previous_Wheel2075 about their worry about having to sit alone for commencement.
Then something unexpected happened. During the ceremony, the Provost actually brought up Previous_Wheel2075's post, reminding us that even if we don't know each other personally, we can still look out for each other as part of the Michigan community. Go Blue!
I was genuinely surprised the Provost not only saw the Reddit post but felt it worth mentioning to thousands of graduates. It was a perfect example of how our generation communicates and how institutions are adapting.
As for "what now?" – honestly, it's terrifying and exciting in equal measure. Four years of structured learning, and now... what? Job hunting? Grad school? Real world responsibilities? I'm still figuring that out, but knowing the Michigan community has my back (and apparently reads Reddit) feels like a good start.
